Cold Water, Big Hearts: Plunging for Special Olympics New Hampshire
Thursday 29th Jan
On February 8, 2026, I’ll be trading comfort for cold water as I take part in the Special Olympics New Hampshire Penguin Plunge at Hampton Beach. It will be freezing. It will be uncomfortable. And it will be completely worth it.
Why? Because courage, inclusion, and joy deserve support.
This year’s plunge happens to fall on Super Bowl Sunday—a day when many of us will be warm at home, cheering on our favorite athletes and teams. Before the kickoff, I’m inviting you to cheer just as loudly for a different group of athletes—those who compete year-round through Special Olympics New Hampshire (SONH).
SONH is about more than sports. It’s about unleashing potential.
Through year-round training and competition, Special Olympics New Hampshire creates opportunities for confidence, connection, and inclusion—one athlete, one coach, one community at a time. These athletes show us what it means to show up, to try, and to believe in themselves and each other.
We all we have.
We all we need.
Before the game begins, let’s come together to support a cause that reminds us what teamwork, resilience, and joy really look like. Your support helps provide training, competition, and community for athletes across New Hampshire—and it makes moments like this plunge matter.
