I’m Freezin’ for a Reason!
My grandmother, Carol Madden, was a participant in the first penguin plunge in New Hampshire. She was a coach for the Derry Penguins (now Timberwolves) Special Olympic Team for years. Most of my early memories with her with at special olympic practices, meets and events. Our last conversation, 3 days prior to her death in 2007, was her asking me to plunge for her and to raise money for Special Olympics because she knew she wouldn't be able to plunge again. I have participated in 9 penguin plunges in NH, VT and 1 in FL (that one doesn't really count) and throughout the years have raised thousands of dollars in her memory. As this is the 25th anniversary of the NH Penguin Plunge I, again want to raise money in her memory and take the plunge on Superbowl Sunday.
I am so excited to be making an icy splash into the Atlantic at the Penguin Plunge for Special Olympics New Hampshire!
Please donate to my Plunge. It will make a profound difference in the lives of people with intellectual disabilities across the Granite State. Special Olympics athletes participate in life-changing programs that promote physical fitness, self-confidence, and social inclusion.
Every dollar you give goes toward creating a more inclusive, accepting, and empowered New Hampshire. Together, we can create a world where everyone has the chance to shine.
Thank you!
P.S. Donate $150 or more and you qualify for two free tickets to the NH Fisher Cats 2024 Opening Game (based on availability)!
