Taking the Plunge!
Monday 12th JanBeing a mom to a child with special needs has taught me the true power of courage, community, and joy. That’s why this year, I’m trading my cozy winter sweater for a bathing suit to participate in the Winni Dip, to support the Special Olympics New Hampshire.
For those who haven’t experienced it, the Winni Dip is more than just a chilly jump into icy waters—it’s a celebration of inclusivity, courage, and support for athletes of all abilities. Every splash we make helps fund local Special Olympics programs, giving children and adults with intellectual disabilities opportunities to compete, grow, and shine in ways that truly matter.
It’s a little nerve-wracking to imagine diving into freezing water in the middle of winter, but then I think of my son—how he approaches every challenge with a grin, determination, and a heart full of excitement—and I know I can do this, again! This plunge isn’t just about me; it’s about supporting a community.
